DeBartolo Performing Arts Center

Stagehand & Electrician - DeBartolo Performing Arts Center - Notre Dame, IN

In fall 2013 I joined the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center as a stagehand and electrician. Coming from a background in theatre lighting and sound management the job was a perfect fit for me. Now in my third year with the center, I have earned many responsibilities  in many different roles. I have been able to stage manage, run sound and light boards, assist in lighting design and installation, and help with the load in and tear down of many nationally and internationally touring groups.

My position as a stagehand has taught me many important skills such as:
          - Working in a fast paced and exciting environment
          - Completing tasks while under time constraints
          - Communicating clearly with co-workers and supervisors
          - Making safety a top priority in the workplace
          - Working with advanced theatre technologies
          - Running and managing large concerts and shows
          - Operating under high stress situations
          - Lighting and sound design techniques
          - Interacting with and assisting visiting talent
